ALESSI (Vintage)

ALESSI - The factory from Crusinallo. Founded in 1921 by Giovanni Alessi in Crusinallo, Piedmont, ALESSI has evolved from a simple manufacturer of household goods into one of the world's most renowned brands for design objects.
A turning point in the company's history came in July 1970, when Alberto Alessi, grandson of the founder, took over the management. Under his leadership, ALESSI transformed into a true design factory – a place where not only things were produced, but where ideas were also born.
In 1979, Alberto Alessi brought the architect and designer Alessandro Mendini into the company as a design consultant – a groundbreaking decision. Together they not only shaped the company, but changed the world...

The list of contributors reads like a who's who of international design: Richard Sapper, Aldo Rossi, Ettore Sottsass, Achille Castiglioni, Andrea Branzi, Paola Navone, Philippe Starck, Jasper Morrison, Enzo Mari – to name just a few: they all designed objects for ALESSI that have long since become icons. Yet many of these famous pieces, despite their iconic status, remained commercially unsuccessful – and some are now extremely difficult to find.
