Christopher Dresser "Christy" sugar bowl

CD01 Zuccheriera, sugar bowl, Zuckerschale

Christopher Dresser (1834-1904) was a British designer and botanist. He is considered Britain's first professional independent industrial designer. Unlike his contemporaries in the Arts & Crafts movement, he wholeheartedly embraced all the difficulties of industrial production without sacrificing the bold and visionary craftsmanship of his designs.

In 1991, ALESSI reissued some of his most famous designs in silver and stainless steel at OFFICINA ALESSI.

Then in 1993, as part of the "Family Follows Fiction" project, it was made in very bright and cheerful colors from resin. I'm absolutely sure Christopher Dresser would have liked it!
