The second ashtray design by Marianne Brandt (1893 -1983). Designed in 1926 at the Bauhaus in Weimar, the same year she became deputy head of the Bauhaus metal workshop. The cylindrical shape with the conical lid ensures a precise seal and reliably traps odors. The model is suitable for serial production and embodies Marianne Brandt's design principles: consistent functionality, clear design language, and material-appropriate aesthetics.

From 1995, ALESSI produced this ashtray under license from the Bauhaus-Archiv. The brass version is very rare.

The official Bauhaus signet is laser-engraved, the Officina ALESSI logo has the addition BRASS ITALY. The ashtray is in its original packaging and appears absolutely unused, NOS, OVP, unpacked for the photo!
