Christopher Dresser (1834-1904) was a British designer and botanist. He is considered Britain's first professional independent industrial designer. Unlike his contemporaries in the Arts & Crafts Movement, he unreservedly embraced all the challenges of industrial production, without, however, stripping his designs of their bold and visionary artisanal character.
From 1991, ALESSI reissued some of his most famous designs at Officina Alessi and, together with Brian Asquith, supplemented missing components.
