SHAKER_Design the Jewelry Box
The Shaker religious community was founded in the 18th century in Manchester, Great Britain. In 1774, the group emigrated to the US state of New York.
Here in Europe, the Shakers are mainly known for their furniture and product designs. Today, the Shaker style is considered an independent and influential contribution to art history. Shaker furniture was already widespread throughout the United States in the 19th century and was also presented at world exhibitions. Its formal austerity, lack of ornamentation, and focus on utility show parallels to the English Arts and Crafts movement and also influenced modernism in architecture and design at the beginning of the 20th century.
The cans have been made by hand for over 250 years from the highest quality cherry wood, copper nails, and tiny wooden dowels.
The "tray" insert is included with the Jewelry Box.
