The vase (form) was designed by Alessandro Mendini already in 1992 for the project "100% MAKE UP". The decor Proust he designed for the exhibition "Italy - Germany 4:3 / 50 years of Italian and German design" in the Bundeskunsthalle Bonn, in June 2000, but only 2 vases were produced for the exhibition. On the occasion of the 100th birthday of ALESSI (1921 - 2021) there is the vase in a limited edition of 999 pieces worldwide.

The lid and base are decorated with real gold, this is still done by hand. Then the vase is fired and the gold is cold brushed again.

The "white" and the "golden" vase on the pictures are originals from 1992.
