SQUIRREL money box

Typical Maxim Velčovský. In 2005, he took traditional porcelain figurines, purely decorative items, and cut a "slot for coins" into them. This is provocative DIY design. The result was money boxes, and now the figurines had a function!

Here, too, Velčovský applied his favorite technique of redesign. He started with a kitschy "vintage" sculpture of a squirrel sitting on its hind legs, which he improved slightly by adding an elongated slit on the back of the figure, thus transforming it into a money box. The designer is referring to a time when porcelain figurines were worth a fortune and therefore only affordable for a limited class of people.

The figures were produced in very small quantities and there is no "opening" to remove the inserted piece (without shards).
