SQUARED CIRCLE, Ettore Sottsass 1958, REEDITION from 2015

small bowl by Ettore Sottsass, re-edition by DESIGN MEMORABILIA 2015

In 2015, on the occasion of the Universal Exhibition in Milan, DESIGN MEMORABILIA presented its first (and only) collection at the Trienale Design Museum. The initiator of DM, George M. Beylerian, wanted to offer famous Italian designs by all the important designers at affordable prices.

That went badly wrong. After the World Expo in Milan, there was a presentation in the MOMA store in New York in 2016. DM then closed its doors. In a later interview, George M. Beylerian described, very humorously, that the designers' licenses had robbed him of sleep, among other things.
