Christopher Dresser (1834-1904) was a British designer and botanist. He is considered to be Britain's first professional independent industrial designer. In contrast to his contemporaries of the Arts & Crafts Movement, he unreservedly accepted all the difficulties of industrial production without, however, depriving his designs of their bold and visionary artisan character.
From 1991, ALESSI re-edited some of its most famous designs at Officina Alessi and added missing components together with Brian Asquith.
