The Shaker religious community was founded in the 18th century in Manchester, Great Britain. In 1774, the group emigrated to the American state of New York.

Here in Europe, the Shakers are primarily known for their furniture and product designs. The Shaker style is now considered a unique and influential contribution to art history. Shaker furniture was already widespread throughout the USA in the 19th century and was even presented at world's fairs. Its formal rigor, the absence of ornamentation, and its focus on utility show parallels to the English Arts and Crafts movement and also influenced modern architecture and design at the beginning of the 20th century.

I bought this candlestick in Denmark! It's being produced there again today under official Shaker license, using the traditional casting method. Made of bronze. I was really delighted to find it.

You control the candle's center of gravity using the height adjustment/screw. Nothing wobbles.
